Tabletop Light Painting

These light paintings are a little bit different; these are all tabletop light paintings.  You don’t have to be outside to do beautiful light paintings.  I tend to like photographs that are closer, so this style was totally up my alley.  My professor Caryn Esplin is an incredible photographer, and her light paintings are truly amazing and unique.  She brought all of these amazing props from her home for us to use in our light painting. The number one thing I learned about table top light painting is to do multiple takes of it, and to be patient.  I had to do the same scene 3 or 4 times before I was pleased with the outcome.  Another thing is to make sure you’re focused properly; I had a really hard time with that.  Also, don’t be afraid to experiment and PLAY! Have fun with it! Light Painting allows you to ignite your creativity and imagination.
